2011 Walk MS

(This post features guest writers Drew and Jeff, Walk MS Team Amigo co-captains.)

This past Saturday, Team Amigo participated in the annual Walk MS in Frankenmuth, Mich. Over 30 associates and family members supported the fundraising event to fight MS. Walk MS remains an important event to Amigo Mobility because the first Amigo was invented for an individual who had MS. Thousands of people have regained their mobility due to using an Amigo in the 43 years since.

Despite the rain, the 1,000 walkers remained exuberant during the 3 mile route through Frankenmuth. The scenic route took everyone along the river, through the downtown business district and even over a covered bridge.

Team Amigo raised $1,600 in support of national research efforts and local programs which assist the 18,000 individuals living with MS in Michigan. To date, total funds raised by Walk MS Frankenmuth participants equals $110,000! There's still time to donate -- donations are being accepted through September. Visit the Team Amigo page to donate now.

Thanks to everyone who participated and donated. Check out more Team Amigo photos on the MS Walk Flickr account.
